Case Contents

What a Kakawow case contains

All three lines share one pack configuration, so a case is the same physical quantity whichever line you order. Five cards per pack, ten packs per box, ten boxes per case works out to 100 packs and 500 cards in every case.

That matters when you are planning shelf space and sell-through, because the lines are not interchangeable in what those 500 cards contain. The hit structure differs by line, which is the real basis for choosing between them.

Hit Structure

How the three systems differ

The sections above describe each line on its own terms. Read side by side, the three lines are built around three different ideas about where the value sits.

Phantom

Depth per case

Value concentrates in serial-numbered box hits and a guaranteed autograph in every case. The edition sizes are the tightest of the three, so a Phantom case is the most predictable of the three in what it guarantees a buyer.

Aura

Chase across the checklist

Value spreads through a parallel system rather than sitting in a few slots. The peacock parallels run the length of the checklist and ladder up to one-of-one cards, so the chase continues across the whole case rather than resolving early.

Cosmos

Breadth of base

Built around a broad base set with autograph, gold, and short-print parallels layered over it. The widest checklist of the three, which suits set collectors and buyers who move volume rather than chasing single cards.

Store Fit

Which line fits your store

There is no single right answer, and plenty of stores carry more than one line. As a starting point, these are the patterns we see in how the three lines are ordered.

Trading-card led

Aura tends to fit best. A parallel system that runs the whole checklist gives repeat customers a reason to keep opening, which suits a store with a regular singles and breaking audience.

Sports led

Phantom tends to translate most directly. Serial-numbered hits and a guaranteed autograph per case map onto expectations a sports customer already has from established sports products.

Mixed or gift led

Cosmos tends to move best. The licensed properties carry recognition well beyond the hobby, and a broad base set supports impulse and gift purchases rather than depending on chase alone.

Licensing

These are licensed properties

Every program above is built on a licensed property: Stranger Things, Harry Potter for the 25th anniversary, DC Comics, and Sanrio characters. The licence is the reason the artwork, marks, and character likenesses can appear on the cards at all.

For a US retailer that distinction is worth confirming on any imported product. Licensed product is what lets a store display and advertise the property by name, and it is the difference between stocking a recognised property and stocking something that merely resembles one.

Terminology

Terms used on this page

Hit
Any card pulled from a pack that is not a base card. Autographs, serial-numbered cards, and parallels are all hits.
Parallel
An alternate version of a card that already exists in the base set, distinguished by a different finish, colour, or border, and printed in smaller quantities.
Serial numbered
Written as #/N. The card is stamped with its own number out of a fixed print run, so #/75 means 75 copies of that card exist.
Short print
A card printed in deliberately lower quantities than the rest of its set, without necessarily carrying a serial number.
Case hit
A card rare enough that it is expected roughly once per case rather than once per box.
Edition size
The total number of cases produced for a program worldwide. A smaller edition size means fewer cases exist across all markets.

Common Question

Is "kaka wow" the same as Kakawow?

Yes. Kakawow is the same manufacturer whether it is written or searched as "kaka wow" or "kakao wow." Same company, same licensed cards, same three lines covered above.

Is Kayou the same as Kakawow?

Kayou (often searched as "kayo cards") is a separate manufacturer. Kayou My Little Pony and NARUTO programs release from September 2026; Kayou is not part of the Phantom, Aura, or Cosmos lines on this page.

How many cards are in a Kakawow case?

500 cards. Every Kakawow case holds 10 boxes, each box holds 10 packs, and each pack holds 5 cards, which is 100 packs and 500 cards per case. The configuration is the same across Phantom, Aura, and Cosmos.

Are Kakawow cards officially licensed?

Yes. The programs covered here are built on licensed properties including Stranger Things, Harry Potter, DC Comics, and Sanrio characters.

What is the minimum order for trade buyers?

One case. Cases ship from Dallas, Texas.
